There can never be muscle growth without pain, every bodybuilder knows this, and makes a continuous decision to feel the pain in each training session, but to attain the perfect body.
Similarly, in your journey to reclaiming your masculinity, you should be aware that there will be many hurdles and challenges that will certainly cause you pain, conflicting ideas about who you are as a man.
Be prepared for your ego to fight back when you attempt to level up, and for sure your own mind refusing to adapt to new thought patterns.
In my own journey, I have come to learn that masculine energy grows and expands through challenges. In contrast, the feminine energy grows through praise and validation.
Every time you do something hard and succeed, you are effectively teaching your brain to wire new circuits towards reinforcing that behavior so that you do it again and again because your reward system releases dopamine and other feel-good chemicals when you are doing the activity.
Cultivating healthy, daily habits that force you to disrupt your comfort also brings opportunities for you to cultivate discipline. It feels painful to give up sleep to exercise or meditate.
But if you do it and start to see results of your training, or meditation, then sleeping longer becomes the hurdle to your goals, not the luxury it once was. The more you embrace the pain of giving up simple pleasures, the more disciplined you become.
Becoming a disciplined man capable of overlooking short-term pleasure for long-term gains, and always welcoming pain in pursuit of growth is a worthy goal in my eyes.
